A scholarship of SEK 25,000 is awarded to a doctoral student for interdisciplinary studies abroad in the spirit of Erik Gustaf Geijer.

Examples of research domains: Geijer was active in various academic disciplines, such as history, philosophy, eloquence, poetry and music.

The scholarship is only available to doctoral students at Karlstad University.

The application should be individual and relate to a specific project.

The application should include:

  • Cover letter
  • CV / Resume
  • Official Transcript of Records (Ladok)
  • Certificate from teacher/supervisor at Karlstad University
  • Presentation of project plan

Incomplete applications and applications submitted after deadline will not be processed. Documents included in the application should be submitted as attachments.

The application must be submitted to the scholarship committee by 12 april 2023.

The application will be assessed based on the following criteria:

  • Previous study results within the field related to the scholarship
  • Feasibility of the proposed project
  • Relevance to the aim of the scholarship

A scholarship committee, including a student representative, decides whom will be awarded a scholarship. The scholarship committee’s decision will be announced in may/june 2023.
