Description
Karlstad Business School was founded in 2009, and comprises the disciplines working life science, business administration, information systems, law, economics and statistics. We offer courses and programmes at all levels, supported by robust research in the disciplines as well as in multidisciplinary research groups, of which the largest is CTF, the Service Research Center (kau.se/en/ctf). Substantial national and international networks provide a good basis for new research projects and commissioned courses.

Duties
Duties involve teaching organisation and marketing in Swedish and supervising bachelor and master essays. Teaching duties in other areas of business administration such as management and financial management may also be included. A certain amount of research may be included in the position upon consultation with the head of the department and the director of studies.

Qualification requirements
The eligibility requirement for appointment as senior lecturer is a doctorate in business administration, or another field relevant to the specialisation of the position. Applicants must be able to demonstrate research and teaching expertise in the discipline at higher education level.

A completed course in teaching and learning in higher education is a requirement for appointment. Under special circumstances, this course may be completed within two years of employment as part of the professional development commitment.

For other qualification requirements, see Karlstad University’s regulations for the appointment and promotion of teaching staff and Ch. 4 Sec. 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance.

Assessment criteria
Special weight is given to applicants’ teaching expertise in business administration and this is assessed on the basis of applicants’ ability to plan, conduct and evaluate teaching, as well as supervise and assess students’ work. Special weight is further given to the ability to develop and streamline teaching using new methods and techniques. Swedish is the main language of instruction, and therefore special weight is given to good written and spoken skills in Swedish.
Considerable weight is given to current research contributions and this is assessed on the basis of publications in the area of business administration. Considerable weight is further given to the ability to cooperate, take initiative, and participate fully in the business administration environment and Karlstad Business School.

Terms of employment
This is a full-time, non-fixed-term position (100%) with starting date as per agreement. A probationary period may be required.

Application
