Description

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science provides education and conducts research in computer science and mathematics. We offer several study programmes and courses with a strong connection to current technologies and societal challenges.

As part of our strategic focus on artificial intelligence (AI), we are now looking for a lecturer who wants to contribute to the development and implementation of our new bachelor’s programme in computer science with a specialisation in AI. More information about the programme:

Duties

As a university lecturer, your main duties will include:

  • Participating in the development and implementation of courses in computer science, especially with a focus on AI (machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, large multimodal models, diffusion models and deep reinforcement learning). 

Being responsible for teaching and supervision, as well as assisting in examinations and assessments at the undergraduate level.  Participating in educational work in collaboration with colleagues. 

To contribute to a positive work environment and further the department’s activities, we expect you to be a present and active part of the day-to-day operations and workplace community.

Qualification requirements

To be eligible for the position of lecturer, applicants are required to hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Applicants are also required to have knowledge and experience in AI and related technologies. In addition, applicants need to be proficient in English, both in speech and writing.

Applicants are also required to have completed training in higher education pedagogy. Candidates who have not completed training in higher education pedagogy may still be hired, provided that they do so within two years of employment. Assessment criteria

Special weight will be given to:

  • Knowledge and experience in AI with a focus on machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, large multimodal models, diffusion models and deep reinforcement learning.

Considerable weight will be given to:

  • Documented teaching experience and expertise.
  • Experience in course development and teaching at university level.
  • Strong collaborative skills and interest in educational development.

Weight will be given to:

  • Proficiency in Swedish, both in speech and writing.

Valuable qualifications:

  • Recognised or distinguished teaching skills.
  • A master’s (60 or 120 credits), licentiate or doctoral degree in computer science.

Terms

This is a temporary, full-time position until January 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension. Start date at the earliest convenience, as agreed by both parties.
