The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science conducts research in distributed intelligent systems and communication. In this area, a research project is conducted on the theme of data-driven latency-sensitive mobile services for a digitalised society (DRIVE). For this project, we are now looking for a project assistant to work on protocols and frameworks for, and evaluation of, parallel/multiple network connections.
The position is focused on computer networking services with multiple connections, e.g. with Wi-Fi and 5G, or within 5G by so-called ‘slicing’. The work is carried out with the support of experiments in testbeds or emulated environments, with documentation and reporting in the form of peer-reviewed publications.
The work is carried out in collaboration with researchers in computer science at Karlstad University within the DRIVE research project. To contribute to a good working environment and development of the organisation, you will be on site and participate in the daily work and community.
Employment requires a Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualification. Documented experience in computer networking with a specialisation in parallel/multiple network connections is required. In the selection of candidates, special weight is given to experience in data communications, good programming skills, experience in research, and the completion of higher education credits in data communications.
Personal qualities such as good interpersonal skills, good judgement, responsibility, commitment to the activities and a positive attitude towards colleagues are highly valued.
Good knowledge of English is essential. Knowledge of Swedish is an advantage.
Temporary employment with scope 100%.
Start date 2025-01-01. End date 2025-02-28 with the possibility of extension.
