Description

At Karlstad Business School and Information Systems, we work in a dynamic environment characterized by curiosity, joy of work, and a tangible ease of collaborating with organizations in the surrounding society. The Business School has a special focus on digital transformation and sustainability. We are seeking an inspiring professor who actively wants to participate in the development of the Business School in terms of both teaching and research. You should have the ambition to develop our research and educational environment because you will meet colleagues who are passionate about their subject, whether it is teaching or research.

Research is conducted in various areas within information systems, and we participate in interdisciplinary collaborations with research centers at Karlstad University, particularly with CTF - Service Research Center and CSR - Center for Research on Societal Risk, as well as other universities. Karlstad Business School is AACSB-accredited.

Education is conducted at all levels in information systems, supported by research both within the subject environment and in interdisciplinary research groups. We offer education within three bachelor's programs, one master's program, and doctoral education. Please read more about us and our educational programs at kau.se/en/information-systems.

Duties

As a professor, you are expected to take an active leadership role in the field and in collaboration within Karlstad Business School. You primarily engage in research and doctoral education, but also in undergraduate and advanced-level education. Your tasks include actively seeking external research funding for the field, taking overall responsibility for the research activities within the field, and contributing to the national and international development of the field. You collaborate with the surrounding society for mutual exchange and ensure that the knowledge and competence available at the university benefit society. As a professor, you are expected to inform and collaborate regarding your own and the field's activities. Administrative tasks are also included in the position.

You are also expected to be available for managerial and administrative assignments at the university. To contribute to a good working environment and the development of the activities, you are present and participate in the daily work and community.

Qualification requirements

Eligible for employment as a professor in information systems is someone who has demonstrated both scientific and pedagogical skills in information systems or related subjects. The work requires good knowledge of Swedish and English.

According to Karlstad University's employment regulations, teachers must have the personal qualities required to fulfill the position. A professor must also have completed supervisor and higher education pedagogical training. If the training is lacking, employment can still take place, provided that the employee commits to completing them within the first two years or applies to validate equivalent knowledge. For all eligibility requirements, please refer to Karlstad University's employment regulations.

Assessment Criteria

When assessing scientific and pedagogical qualifications, equal weight will be given to pedagogical skills and scientific skills.
