In line with Karlstad University’s Appointments Procedure, the successful candidate must have the personal qualities required to perform the duties involved, as well as an equivalent to 15 ETCS in higher education pedagogy. Assessment criteria

  • In the assessment, equal weight will be given to research and teaching expertise.
  • Research expertise will be assessed on the basis of originality and independence, and priority will be given to candidates who demonstrate breadth and depth in their research as well as have recent research publications. The extent of the research production will also be taken into account.
  • Considerable weight will be given to the demonstrated ability to secure external research funding, as well as to experience of international employment, projects, or networks.
  • Considerable weight will also be given to the ability to cooperate, show sound judgement and commitment, and a positive attitude towards colleagues and students.
  • A teaching degree and/or experience of teaching in the school system are also seen as valuable qualifications.

This is a permanent full-time position starting 1 October 2022, or according to agreement.
A probationary period may be required.

In order to contribute to a good working environment and help further the subject’s activities, we expect the successful candidate to be present and actively participate in the day-to-day activities.

For permanent employment at Karlstad University, good knowledge of Swedish is normally required. A candidate who does not meet this requirement may still be hired provided they actively work towards acquiring this knowledge.
