Description
CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University (www.ctf.kau.se), is one of the world’s leading research centers focusing on service. CTF has more than 70 researchers and doctoral students from disciplines such as Business Administration, Psychology, Information Systems, Political Science, Sociology of Religion, and engineering disciplines such as Mechanical Engineering, Energy and Environmental Systems, and Computer Science. CTF is known for extensive cooperation with the business and public sectors, and our research addresses key concerns for both.

Duties
The postdoctoral appointment will contribute to ongoing research at CTF. More specifically, the postdoc will be part of our research on how health in the future may be supported by different digital solutions. Particular focus will be placed on contributing knowledge of how behavior change and different types of innovations can support the transformation toward health-care, from passive patients to active agents in Sweden. The researcher is expected to be an active member of the team currently conducting research in this field. In addition to having the ambition for scientific publication, the researcher needs to master practical innovation work and have a solid grasp of various ways to tackle the challenges faced by modern society. The aim is for this research to contribute knowledge that is relevant for the academy as well as the external partners of CTF. The position primarily comprises research, while only a small part involves teaching and other types of development work.

Qualification requirements
To be eligible for the postdoctoral appointment, applicants are required to hold a PhD in a relevant subject (Business Administration, Industrial Management, Quality Management, Psychology, Human Work Science, or other subjects that are relevant given the duties described above), in a related discipline, or have equivalent qualifications achieved abroad. The candidate must have completed the degree no more than three years before the end of the application period, unless special grounds exist (such as sick leave, parental leave, clinical service, service as a union representative, or similar).

Assessment criteria
Considerable weight will be placed on the research qualifications of applicants, especially publications in international journals and conferences relevant for CTF research and the subject area of the appointment. Considerable weight will also be placed on the applicant’s abilities in terms of experience in digital health, health-related innovation, and behavioural shifts. Strong motivation and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are important traits since a great part of this research is conducted in cooperation with other researchers, across disciplinary boundaries, at CTF.

Terms
The position is a fixed-term, full time position over two years, starting as soon as possible. The two-year period may be extended if there are special circumstances, in accordance with the centrally negotiated collective agreement for postdoctoral appointments.

Further information
Karlstad University places great value on the enriching presence of diverse backgrounds and gender balance in the organisation. We welcome applicants with different cultural backgrounds, gender identities, functional abilities and life experiences.
