Description

The Grants and Innovation Office, GIO, is part of the administration and central services at Karlstad University.

GIO’s mission is to contribute to the development of the university’s research activities by offering professional support related to strategic issues, quality enhancement activities, research funding and innovation and utilisation of research findings. GIO consists of research and innovation advisors as well as financial and administrative support that assist researchers and research environments to promote the development of both individuals and groups. Our approach is based on the notion that research and the utilisation of knowledge and research results are connected, and thereby a naturally integrated part of strong and attractive research environments.

GIO also offers support to the university’s executive management in terms of the strategic development of the university’s research and innovation activities. In addition to the support provided to researchers, research environments and the university’s executive management, GIO also supports students in the development of their innovative ideas. GIO is also one of the leading players in the regional research and innovation support system and supports researchers and research environments in establishing national and international networks.

As part of the Grants and Innovation Office, you will contribute to both the development of GIO and to the development of Karlstad University’s research and innovation activities.
