We are now looking for a doctoral student with the completion of a doctoral degree focusing on everyday travel and sustainable behaviour change.
Description
At Karlstad University, 26 subjects offer third-cycle studies, and Psychology is one of them. The subject Psychology belongs to the Department of Social and Psychological Studies together with Gender Studies, Social Work, and Sociology. Research in Psychology focuses on a number of different areas, from clinical specialisations to the psychology of everyday life.
We are now announcing an employment as a doctoral student with the completion of a doctoral degree focusing on everyday travel and sustainable behaviour change. The dissertation project will develop new knowledge about motivation for sustainable behaviour change linked to everyday travel, and the role of experiences for overall evaluation and choices of means of transportation. The project includes validation of previously developed subjective measurement scales, as well as development and testing of new methods and interventions for sustainable behaviour change linked to everyday travel. We are looking for a PhD student who has the motivation to develop research in this area. The applicant shall submit a concise research plan for the proposed research area.
The doctoral studentship
The doctoral studentship involves four years of full-time study and leads up to a doctoral degree. Doctoral students work independently and are also expected to contribute to the work of the subject in different ways. The position may include 20% of other teaching-related, research-related, or administrative tasks at the department, in which case the studentship will be extended correspondingly. The doctoral student is expected to be based at Karlstad University and contribute actively to the research environment of the subject.
