Description

Ingesund School of Music (MHI) forms part of the Department of Artistic Studies at Karlstad University and constitutes the university’s second campus in Arvika. MHI has a good reputation and is popular among students. We offer degrees in secondary education with specialisation in music and aim to train artistic pedagogues who can teach in secondary and upper-secondary schools as well as primary, music and culture schools. Since 2016, MHI and Karlstad University have been offering a bachelor programme in music, and since 2018, a music production programme is also being offered. We further aim to establish a centre for artistic research.

Music pedagogy is an interdisciplinary field that focuses on all kinds of knowledge development and learning in music, taking into account various social, cultural and practical dimensions of learning. The field has bearing on teaching and education and, as such, it forms an important foundation of the courses and programmes offered at MHI.

We are seeking a senior lecturer in music with specialisation in music pedagogy and located at Ingesund School of Music.
